Death lurks around every corner. In this world there are soulless monsters just lying in wait to take that which is most precious. Jaws, the Terminator, Xeonorphs, the Predator, all are killing machines. But they have nothing on the deadliest force known to all of mankind. This killer shields itself in the mundanity of everyday life. Scientists have feared studying this killer in fear of retribution because from this killer you cannot hide. I am, of course, talking about that ever lurking killer, truck-kun.

You never see truck-kun coming, but it’s always there, waiting for it’s opportunity to take out some poor soul. Truck-kun comes in many different shapes and colors, always primed to take some poor schmuck by surprise. From kids, to teens, to adults truck-kun does not discriminate, it is an unknowing, unfeeling killing machine. But what is truck-kun and where did it come from? From here we will delve into the realm of the world’s most dangerous killer.

No one knows exactly when and where truck-kun came from, but I can confirm that my first sighting came in the first episode of the classic anime Yu Yu Hakusho. In this episode truck-kun came in disguise as your average sedan and targeted a child chasing his ball into the street. Our delinquent hero Yusuke dives in front of the kid and is killed by this deceptively docile truck-kun. There have also been reports that date back to the 1963 anime Astro Boy that claim truck-kun, but fearing for the safety of those around me I have not yet been able to ascertain the veracity of those claims. From here truck-kun only became stronger and over the last decade truck-kun has racked up a body count to make Vlad the Impaler blush. The recent boom of the Isekai genre has only given truck-kun more scope for its undeniable power. Hell, the threat of truck-kun is so overwhelmingly terrifying that our MC Kazuma dies just from  the mere idea that truck-kun is gonna get him in the comedy anime Konosuba- God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!.

The Isekai genre has brought on a new ability of the all powerful truck-kun, reincarnation into another world. Whether truck-kun takes you in a direct hit or tasks you to show some morality by going after some unsuspecting kids, truck-kun has leveled up its god-tier status in this modern era. This evolution comes after an uproar in the truck-kun union after they were used by a mere human to kill people in the anime Death Note. This indignity was the last straw in the truck-kun industry and ever since they have been coming from any direction at any time to take out any pathetic human that it sees fit. The ability to manipulate the human soul and conquer the minds of truck drivers everywhere might seem like the final stage of truck-kun’s evolution, but I don’t think we can count on being so lucky.

For now truck-kun has limited itself to being a killer on the streets, but I fear one day the almighty truck-kun may become a killer in the sheets. If that time comes, may god (truck-kun) have mercy on our souls. (And at least Isekai me to like a chill other world and not somewhere that’s like super high octane please.)
